Corporate housing in Chelsea, New York, by the month

A new role in Manhattan usually starts before the apartment search does. Chelsea Home is our own furnished one-bedroom in Chelsea, let for a month or longer and booked directly with us. It was set up for people who work: two proper workspaces, a large monitor, gigabit WiFi, and a kitchen you would cook in at the end of a long day.

What a corporate stay gets here

Work was the first thing we planned for. There are two workspaces, a large monitor and a printer, and the WiFi is 1 gigabit, so a full day of video calls is ordinary rather than a gamble. When the laptop closes there is a chef’s kitchen with a Wolf oven, a new refrigerator, a dishwasher and an espresso machine, and a dining table that expands to seat six for the evening a colleague or a client comes by.

The rest is what a month needs and a hotel does not offer: a king bed, a smart television, a sound system and a record player, a garden patio with a grill, laundry in the building and free gym access. Lights, air conditioning and shades are voice-controlled. This is our own apartment, and everything in it is yours for the stay except one small closet we keep.

Where it sits for work

Chelsea is a working neighborhood as much as a gallery one. Google’s New York campus on Eighth Avenue is a three-minute walk. The A, C and 1 trains are a very short walk from the door, and from there Penn Station is ten minutes, Grand Central nineteen, Wall Street twenty-one and Hudson Yards twenty-two. Columbia is twenty-eight minutes for a visiting term uptown. The table above is measured door to door on a weekday.

How booking and paperwork work

You book on the Chelsea Home page on this site, directly with us. It is the same calendar as our Airbnb listing, so availability is identical, but booking here means you are not paying Airbnb’s guest service fee on a month-long stay. Rates for your dates show in the calendar before you commit.

If your company is paying, or you need a longer term than the calendar shows, ask us. We are the owners, and we answer our own messages. Check-in and check-out times, the address and how to get into the building are in your booking confirmation and the house manual we send before you arrive.

A month in Chelsea

Chelsea Market is a five-minute walk for groceries and lunch, the High Line is at the end of the block for a walk after work, and the West Village is ten minutes on foot for dinner. A month here is long enough to have a coffee place and a running route, which is most of what turns a corporate apartment into somewhere you actually live.

Good to know before you ask

Stays are a minimum of 28 nights. The apartment sleeps two. Dogs are accepted under the same policy as our Airbnb listing, and because dogs have stayed we cannot guarantee the apartment is entirely free of dog hair. One small closet is off-limits.

Questions people ask before a longer stay

Can I book for a month, or longer?
Yes. The minimum stay is 28 nights and the apartment is let by the month. If you need longer than the calendar shows, or an extension partway through, ask us early and we will do what we can.
Can a company book the apartment for an employee?
Yes. Book on the Chelsea Home page and tell us who will be staying and for how long. We are the owners, so questions about the arrangement go to us directly.
Can you provide an invoice for my employer?
Ask us when you enquire, along with anything else your company needs, and we will tell you what we can do. We answer our own messages.
Is there somewhere to work from the apartment?
Two workspaces, a large monitor, a printer and 1 gigabit WiFi. It is set up for full days of calls and focused work, not a laptop on the sofa.
Can a second person stay?
Yes. The apartment sleeps two, with a king bed in the bedroom. It is never shared with other guests.
What are check-in and check-out times?
The exact times, the address and how to get into the building are in your booking confirmation and the house manual we send before you arrive.
